What is Reiki?
Put simply, Reiki is universal life energy. It’s Chi, it’s prana, it’s the energy that we and everything in the world emits because, after all, we are all made up of energy radiating at different frequencies.
Why would I do a Reiki session?
The purpose of Reiki is to promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing. For one Reiki practitioner that could be through working on chakras, for others it could be working on specific ailments or concerns. The benefits are a healing, Reiki goes where it’s needed and helps to heal from the inside out.
What will I feel during a Reiki treatment?
In a Reiki treatment you may experience similar sensations as in a Reiki attunement: visuals, tingles, you may feel someone is touching you when they’re not, you may have an emotional release. You may feel nothing at all. Everyone is different and every session is different. Where I didn’t feel anything during my Reiki I, I had a huge emotional release in Reiki II. The best practise is to go in with an open mind, be receptive to receiving anything that may come up for you, and try your best to relax and place trust in your practitioner. It really is incredibly easy to relax during Reiki and some people fall asleep during treatment!
How is the treatment set up?
You’ll be lay down as I work around you. I will provide blankets to keep you warm and cushions to keep you comfortable. Once I’m ready to start Reiki on the back of the body, I’ll gentle remind you that it’s time to flip over. Think of it as a facial type set up!
Are there any risks with Reiki?
Reiki is an entirely positive energy. There is nothing malicious or evil about it and even if a Reiki practitioner practised with ill intent, it simply wouldn’t work. This energy is in no way negative and won’t serve negative purposes.
What Reiki are you certified in?
I am certified in Reiki I and II in the Usui Reiki method.
